Although, on the whole, people have become more concerned about health and diet, and they generally conceptualize that diet affects health, the exact effects of how diet can affect the rate of aging and longevity have not been thoroughly investigated. Far from enough research is done on suggestion of a diet that strikes a balance between Hong Kong lifestyle, assuming that it is a negative factor to health, and an almost perfectly healthy diet. The purpose of this study is to evaluate how different attributes of a diet affect the rate of aging and to suggest a practical healthy diet for Hong Kong people.
The first part was done by studying different academic journals and papers to evaluate how diet affects the health of the heart, affects diabetes and how calories intake affects the rate of aging. The second part was done by survey. We asked 4 people about their diet.
We concluded that the high calories intake speeds up the rate of aging and high fat content in the diet will higher the chance of health disease and diabetes. The survey concluded that Hong Kong people are busy and that it is not possible to eat healthily all the time.
The diet we proposed has underscored the uniqueness of Hong Kong lifestyle and a healthy diet.
