Figure 1 PC Mobile NoteTaker Features of Digital Pen • Looks and weighs like a normal ball point pen • Powered by ordinary lithium batteries: Lasts for 100 hours of continued operation • Ordinary ink refill; can be bought at any stationery shop Features of Memory Unit • Weighs 60g, Lighter than a mobile phone • Full editing capabilities allow easy modifications: highlight, annotate, etc. • Internal Memory: 2MB, Up to 50 A4 pages worth of text • Powered by 2 AAA batteries: Lasts for 3 months HOW DOES IT WORK? PC Mobile NoteTaker consists of a digital pen, a memory unit (Figure 1) and a handwriting recognition driver. Situation 1: Stand-alone (i.e. not connected to a PC) Simply clip the memory unit to the top of any paper (up to A4 size) and start writing with the digital pen in any language (e.g. English, Chinese, Japanese, Tamil). PC Mobile NoteTaker uses ultrasonic positioning technology so that anything you write or draw will be reflected on the LCD screen for you to confirm input (Figure 2). After input is confirmed, the information will be stored in the memory unit. If you wish to upload to a PC, simply connect your memory unit via a USP port to your laptop / desktop, and our handwriting recognition software - AutoText - will convert your handwriting into typed words and diagrams in any Microsoft software (Figure 3) Situation 2: Connected to a PC If you connect the memory unit to a PC, your writing or drawing will be displayed directly on the computer screen (Figure 4) Of course, the digital pen can also be used just like any other ordinary pen in the absence of the memory unit, just that the information capturing capabilities will not be utilized.
